Standup Sisters is an evening of story and celebration. This year's theme is Border Crossings. Sisters will share their personal stories about working with our global neighbors.

You'll meet women from the Sisters of: Divine Providence, Charity of Seton Hill, St. Joseph of Baden, and Sinsinawa (WI) Dominicans.

WHY:  Because justice, compassion, equality, peace and truth are the core of the Gospel message in every place and time 

WHAT:  We will ask how faith guides our response to the era we live in? How do we listen to, affirm, support, and encourage one another when we experience profound uncertainty and challenging transition?  What are our options for political, legislative, and social action in 2017?  How do we ground ourselves in God’s presence and a faith community?
 
There will be time for sharing, group discussions, and prayer

Pentecost Sacred Arts Festival

Our Lady of Grace Church in the South Hills of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce their Pentecost Sacred Arts Festival (PSAF). The five-day festival is free and open to the public. The PSAF features literary and musical performance, as well as a juried art exhibition. Sr. Charlotte Tolliver's piece "God's Hands" will be one of the 46 artworks that will be exhibited.

Sister Mary Schmidt, SC, Lecture at Seton Hill University

This lecture series focuses on social and environmental concerns with global impact and explores Catholic Social Teachings and how they pertain to current events. This year the guest speaker, Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas of the Diocese of Tucson, will address the immigration issues that have been trending topics in the media. As the bishop of a border diocese, Bishop Kicanas has a unique perspective on the plight of immigrants who risk all to seek a better life only to live in the shadow of fear. The event is free and open to the public.
