Celine Maasen, CDP

Sister Celine Maasen entered religious life from Saint Stanislaus in St. Louis, MO. Self-described as fun loving, a bird lover and a word-search- and jigsaw-puzzle enthusiast, Sister Celine credits her 8th grade teacher, Sister Mary William Haug, for greatly influencing her decision to become a Sister. For the past 11 years, Sister Celine has been the church keeper at St. Ann Parish in Normandy, MO. Prior to that, she was in ministry at Mount Providence—which is no longer in existence—for 10 years, as well as St. Johns in Imperial, MO, for four years. When reflecting on what is the most important to her within the charism of the community or how she sees herself living out her charism, she says, “I love to do things for the poor (getting things for them to use or eat.) I trust in Divine Providence for all the things that happen in my life.”
