Sister Lois Ann Wuenstel entered religious life from St. Martin parish in Pittsburgh. She credits being taught by the Sisters for 12 years as what influenced her decision to enter religious life.
Sister Lois Ann holds a bachelor of education from Duquesne University and a master of arts from the University of Detroit. She was a teacher in the early part of her ministry, including St. Joseph in Braddock, PA (1955-56), St. Anne in Castle Shannon, PA (1956-58), Sacred Heart in New Philadelphia, PA (1958-59), St. Mary in Glenshaw, PA (1959-60), Divine Providence Academy (1960-1970) and St. Mary of the Mount (1970-1971). Sister Lois Ann also ministered as a secretary for La Roche College (1971-1972), the Diocese of Pittsburgh (1972-1988) and St. Theresa School (1988-1989). Since 1989, she has been the manager of Sto-Rox Plaza, Inc., in McKees Rocks, PA. She says of her ministry, “I believe my life as a religious is one of dedicated service and love as I minister to the elderly and their needs. I like to think of myself as a ‘Beatitude Woman.’ I strongly believe that my ministry is a significant part of CDP charism, even if it is not specifically spelled out. I believe my ministry is built on the corporal works of mercy.”
Self-described as dedicated and self-sufficient, Sister Lois Ann loves reading and needlework; knitting.
