Joan Wolf, CDP

Sister Joan Wolf, formerly Sister Marietta, entered religious life from Our Lady of Sorrows in St. Louis. She credits the Sisters who taught her and their example of working together, working for others and serving Christ with influencing her vocation to religious life.

Sister Joan's ministry has always been in education. From 1952-1996, she was a teacher in Missouri schools, including Mount Providence in St. Louis and St. Mary’s in Madison. From 1996-2003, she ministered at St. Vincent Children's Home in St. Louis. Since 2007, Sister Joan has been a part-time assistant to the teachers at the Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center in Kingston, MA. She says of her life as a religious, “It is quite rewarding working within the Community, with the mutual respect given to each other. I am most thankful for all the Sisters who have helped me through the years. I am thankful for a Community that has provided for all my needs. I am most proud to be a Sister of Divine Providence.”

Self-described as happy, creative and appreciative, Sister Joan enjoys puzzles, reading and crocheting afghans, sweaters and baby items.
