Day of the Dead Celebration

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a centuries-old Mexican holiday that has spread in recent years to America and beyond. Celebrated each year on November 2, coinciding with the Catholic holidays All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, men, women and children of all ages honor and celebrate their loved ones who have passed away.

Children in Sister Diane Dunn's kindergarten class at Providence Heights Alpha School celebrated the day by listening to the story "The Day of the Dead" and visiting the Sisters of Divine Providence cemetery at Providence Heights. The children walked around the cemetery, praying for the Sisters who have died. To view more pictures of the day's celebration, please visit: https://flic.kr/s/aHskoNUEZU
