Community Cemetery Columbarium
The Sisters of Divine Providence are pleased to announce niche offerings in our new columbarium located in our community cemetery in Allison Park, PA.
What is a columbarium?
A columbarium is a structure that houses cremated remains. The cremated remains are placed in a reserved space in the columbarium called a niche.
Who can be interred?
Those with a strong connection to the Sisters of Divine Providence, such as Associates, family members of Sisters, former members of the Congregation, alumni of La Roche University and of other schools where Sisters of Divine Providence taught, our partners in mission (e.g., co-workers, volunteers) and persons in need. Immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, step-children, grandchildren, step-parents, and step-grandchildren, and their respective spouses and brothers and sisters) of the niche purchaser may also be interred. The Provincial Council will make the final decision.
What is the cost?
Only single niches will be sold (commingling of cremains will not be allowed) for $2,500 and includes the inscription with the following and provisions to care for the space in perpetuity:
- Legal name
- Date of birth
- Date of death
Can a niche be purchased at anytime?
Yes, purchasing a niche before death is the best way of ensuring that your wishes are honored when you die. A niche purchase can also be made by the family of the deceased following death.
How are arrangements for cremation and interment made?
The family will make arrangements for cremation through a funeral home, who will deliver the urn with the cremains to the Sisters of Divine Providence for the final services.
