The Sisters of Divine Providence presented the 2025 Ketteler Award for Social Justice to Sister Karen Bland, OSB and Bishop Mark Joseph Seitz in recognition of their advocacy for justice. The award is named for Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler, Bishop of Mainz, Germany, co-founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence and tireless fighter for the rights of the working class and the marginalized. He was bishop from 1850 until 1877.
