The Sisters of Divine Providence presented the Ketteler Award for Social Justice to Bishop Thomas J. Gumbleton in recognition of his advocacy for justice. The award is named for Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler, Bishop of Mainz, Germany, co-founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence and tireless fighter for the rights of the working class and the marginalized. He was bishop from 1850 until 1877.

Religious Brothers Day Celebration
Celebrate Religious Brothers Day on May 1 with Virtual Gatherings
Religious Brothers Day, marked on May 1st on the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, offers the opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for Religious Brothers. It also offers an opportunity to consider how we all invite, walk with, and encourage young people to discern God’s call in their life.
Brothers: Rooted in Faith, Hope, and Love
This year's celebrations will take place on Wednesday, May 1st at 1:00pm and 7:00pm central time online and will focus on the identity and mission of Religious Brothers in the Church. The virtual session will include live speakers from the Religious Brothers Conference (RBC), Conference of Major Superiors of Men (CMSM), National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC), and the Religious Formation Conference (RFC)
and recorded presentations from Brothers themselves.
Association of Pittsburgh Priests Speaker Series
All are invited to register to hear Cathleen Kaveny, author and professor at Boston College. She will speak on “LGBTQ Students in Catholic Schools: Is There a Way Forward?” on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 PM via Zoom. She will speak on negotiating the tensions between those who want to prohibit LGBTQ teachers from seeking employment in Catholic schools and shy away from open gender identity by students and those who want schools to be more welcoming, in a way that respects the dignity of everyone involved, as well as the mission of Catholic education. Visio Divina

"The Cup of Life: A Guide to Spiritual Growth"
Based on the book by Joyce Rupp this class will provide time for self-reflection, learning and fellowship. Participants will learn about spiritual listening and how to encourage one another’s spiritual health through presence. Cost is $50 and each person will need to bring a copy of the book with them. Retreat on John the Baptist: Advent’s Advent by Bonnie Thurston

Spirituality of the Yellow Brick Road
