Day of Peace Celebration to Honor Sr. Betty Sundry, CDP

The 21st North Hills International Day of Peace Celebration, themed "Act Now for a Peaceful World!, will be held on September 21, 2025, in North Park.

The annual procession of 195 United Nations flags will remember Sr. Elizabeth "Betty" Sundry, CDP, who departed this life on June 1, 2025, and was instrumental in the first 15+ years of creating and hosting the event. 

The festivities will also include entertainment, personal stories, information tables, food samplings and activities.

The free event is from 2 to 4 p.m. at North Park Point Grove on Lake Shore Drive and hosted by AAUW North Hills Pittsburgh, Sisters of Divine Providence, La Roche University, North Hills Ebony Women, Inc., Muslim Association of Pittsburgh, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, and Members of the North Hills Communities.
