Sisters Make Pilgrimage to Honor St. Thérèse
November 21, 2025 -- Several Sisters made the pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., to attend mass and venerate the relics of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus (Lisieux), a great saint and Doctor of the Church, in the 100th year anniversary of her canonization in 1925. Cardinal Seán O’Malley, O.F.M. Cap., Archbishop Emeritus of Boston, celebrated the Mass, which was followed by the Blessing of Roses in honor of St. Thérèse, who said, “When I die, I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens; I will spend my heaven doing good upon the earth.” The Basilica hosted the reliquary from November 20-22, 2025, after its first historic visit in 1999.
