Marilyn Seidel, CDP
Sister Marilyn Seidel entered religious life from St. Basil parish in Pittsburgh. She credits her parents and her association with the Sisters of Divine Providence who taught her in grade school and high school at St. Basil with fostering and encouraging her vocation.
Sister Marilyn’s ministry throughout the years has been varied. She was a teacher, director of religious education and a parish social worker. She was the liaison between the Sisters and the Provincial Leadership Team as director of ministry, visiting Sisters in their place of ministry to support and encourage them in their works. She also aided Sisters who were seeking a ministry to find an appropriate position. She was the program coordinator at Kearns Spirituality Center (1996-2000) and the co-director at Providence Villa Retreat Center (2000-15). Sister Marilyn is now retired.
She says, "I have been loved, encouraged and supported by many people throughout my life. I have been invited and empowered by God to return these gifts to others. In this exchange of gifts, the Divine Providence of God is made more visible in my world, in our world. Because of this, I am grateful and happy."
Self-described as a connector with people and God, Sister Marilyn enjoys nature (especially the moon), taking walks and reading spiritual books.
