Linda Gaupin, CDP

Sister Linda Gaupin, formerly Sister Brenda, entered religious life from St. Margaret Mary parish in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania in 1966. She credits her desire to do active ministry in the church as influencing her decision to enter religious life. Sister Linda’s ministry includes chair of the religion department at Divine Providence Academy (1970–76); chair of religious studies at La Roche College in Pittsburgh (1976–84); summer session instructor at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. (1982); diocesan director of worship for the Diocese of Wilmington (1984–91); adjunct professor in the graduate religion department at La Salle University in Philadelphia (1986–91); associate director/secretariat for the liturgy at the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (1991–94); and director of faith formation for the Diocese of Orlando (1994-2016). Currently, she serves as the director of liturgy for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont, Florida.

Throughout the course of her ministry, Sister Linda has presented workshops and given keynote addresses in more than 30 states on topics including liturgy, liturgical catechesis, sacramental catechesis, liturgical celebrations with children, rite of Christian initiation of adults, sacraments of initiation, and Sunday celebrations in the absence of a priest. Her writings have appeared in more than 23 publications. Her memberships include the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership, College Theology Society, Catholic Theological Society of America, Religious Education Association, Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, and Societas Liturgia.

Self-described as passionate, a work-a-holic and loyal, Sister Linda says, “Religious life offers me the opportunity to minister to the people of God through liturgy and faith formation and to share with them our spirituality flowing from our charism and prayer life.”
