Sisters, University Host Ribbon Cutting for Ketteler Center for Peace, Justice, and Inclusion

PITTSBURGH, April 2025 -- The Ketteler Center for Peace, Justice, and Inclusion is a new partnership with La Roche University and its sponsors and founders the Sisters of Divine Providence.

Inspired by the legacy of Bishop Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler (1811-1877), founder of the Sisters of Divine Providence, the Center is dedicated to upholding the dignity of every person, defending human rights and working toward a vision of a more just and equitable society. Rooted in the Christian gospels and Catholic Social Teaching, the Center aims to promote solidarity, empower communities and create pathways for social change—both on campus and in the wider community. This work is a direct extension of the foundational values of the Sisters of Divine Providence, whose legacy of social justice continues to guide the University’s mission.
