Sisters and Families Celebrate Liturgy Remembering Our Deceased Sisters
On Sunday, June 1, Sisters, Associates, family members, and friends gathered at Providence Heights in Allison Park, Pa., to remember Sister Elizabeth Apel (+7/25/2013), Sister Rosaria Bednar (+3/10/2014) and Sister Geraldine Thiel (+4/27/2014). The celebration included Mass and a brunch.

On Saturday, May 17, 2014, Sisters and Associates gathered in the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel at Providence Heights to welcome three new Associates. The liturgy also included a commitment renewal for all other Associates who were present.

Celebrating Mothers ... selfless in every way
Mother’s Day, May 11, is a day set aside to honor mothers and all women who have the heart of a mother—nurturing, compassionate, forgiving, generous—and who have shared their heart with others.
Associates Reach Out
Mission Alive, an outreach project of the Sisters of Divine Providence Associates, was started in 2009 by Ellen Lavender, former director of the Associates. Since then, each year, through Mission Alive, the Associates have helped a ministry staffed by the Sisters. They learn all about the ministry, spread the word about it, visit the ministry, lend hands-on help, and raise funds for it. Over the years, the Associates have contributed financially, through prayer, and as hands-on volunteers to the Sisters’ sponsored ministries in Santo Domingo and San Benito, Texas.

Sisters of Divine Providence Hire New Director of Mission Advancement
The Sisters of Divine Providence have hired Susan H. Rohm as the congregation’s new Director of Mission Advancement. In her role, effective April 28, Rohm will manage fund development, write proposals and grants, implement strategies to grow annual revenue, manage all communications, and direct the Mission Advancement department.
